Institut Kerjasama Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (IKIAM) – Malaysia International Institute of Islamic Cooperation was established on the 9th. March 2004 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by a group of Muslim National & Community Activists lead by YB. Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, the Member of Parliament for Padang Besar, Perlis, Malaysia.
IKIAM is a Non-Government Organization (NGO) focusing its activities to enhance the collaboration efforts among Muslim NGOs throughout the country and the world. Since its inception, IKIAM has been continuously building its capacity to serve the Ummah – individuals, communities, institutions, nations and Islamic development. IKIAM’s programs are mostly Policy Proposals, Humanitarian & Development Activities and Campaigns in nature for both local and international target groups. The focus is to develop self-esteems and self-reliance, better problem solving thinking process and building networks among the people involved in delivering and receiving the said services. IKIAM also promotes the goodwill and positive image of Malaysia to the Muslim Ummah as well as the citizens of the world.
Currently IKIAM has a network of more than two thousand (2,000+) activists in Malaysia and internationally. Its programs already benefited and influenced ‘positive thinking’s in life’ through its activities and campaigns of more than two hundred thousand (200,000+) people in Malaysia alone and millions abroad.
In fact, IKIAM’s campaign of ‘#JihadEkonomi’ or (#EconomicJihad) which was started in 2016 is now changing the thinking process of millions of Malaysian Muslims towards working diligently to enhance the economic standings of their families, communities and Malaysia itself.
Internationally, IKIAM has been leading the ASEAN MUSLIM NGO MOVEMENT, a platform of working together in collaboration directly and indirectly with more than fifty (50) NGOs in ASEAN which collectively has members of more than fifteenth (50) million members and activists.
